Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon
me; And they said, Let us rise up and build.
So they strengthened their hands for this good work.

K’nex workshops
One of the most amazing, fun, educational
resources that we have enjoyed using is K’nex
- where creativity clicks. The children are immersed in hands-on
inquiry and open-ended exploration. The path to learning is open
ended within constraints. Having built up a substantial collection
of the various bits of kit we are in a position to be able to offer
workshops for groups up to about twenty.
Starting with simple models to be built by following logical flow
chart instructions, the children can progress to programming basic
on and off functions using control technology on the laptops that
we provide. In follow up sessions this can be developed to more
complex models to be built incorporating the use of motors and
sensors.
The children will develop skills in teamwork, following instructions,
logic and problem solving. STEAM activities (Science, Technology.
Engineering, Art and Maths) develop a set of thinking, reasoning,
teamwork, investigative, and creative skills that students can use
in all areas of their lives.
We can tailor workshops to cater for KS1 to KS4 and are happy to
work with mixed age groups, with parental assistance. The active
part of the sessions is usually about three hours but this can be
tailored to suit your requirements. Costs are £5 per first child and
then £1 per additional child in each family.
We will consider venues within a 90 minute drive … please contact
us on vcso@cero.org.uk for further discussions.
